To Rent a Car or Not To, That is the Question
Going to my seminars via a rented car is the next best thing to owning one for myself. I'm sure there's a plus-factor reputation-wise if attendees will see me drive to and fro at the venue inside a car.
My assumption of high expense in renting a car is the only thing that stops me from doing so. Other than that, there are merits that really works on my favor.
Weekend car rentals, for instance. Most of my out of town seminars are scheduled during the weekends. It is that same time of the week when passsengers going to their respective provinces almost doubles in number. It's a nice thought not having to fall in line in securing bus tickets.
Holiday car rentals, on the other hand, promises to offer wide open highways and road almost exclusively to yourself.
All in all renting a car affords me the chance to easily fetch my daughter Sophia and bring her to fun places for a father-and-daughter bonding whenever my seminars are north of Luzon.
I had a friend with car rental contacts but he is currently in Columbia. That is why I will only be relying online in finding affordable car rental rates just like CarRentals.com. It has partnered with car rentals agencies all over the US and World to bring all the best car rental rates for you to compare. It also also made it easy to compare its prices to Priceline and Expedia, so their users know where to find the best price.
Missing Out on Breaking Dawn Movie Premier
A fellow high school alumnus, we fondly call El Kapitan/Capt. USA gave us a surprised visit at home last Saturday.
The running joke for his abrupt trip from his hometown Infanta, Quezon all the way to Metro Manila was to catch the premiere showing of Breaking Dawn Part One, selling one pig in the process. However, watching this movie with so much romantic undertones together with another guy proved to be enough reason not to proceed.
I told him that if he really liked the movie, he can opt to wait for DVD release, filled with features and be among the firsts to own one. Another thing for him to watch out for is a Twilight movie club much like the Disney Movie Club.
Disney Movie Club is the official Disney-owned movie club giving access to great deals on all the best Disney movies.
I'm sure that the Twilight Movie Franchise can come up with its own official movie club given its phenomenal success. Or they might already have. It wouldn't be that hard to compile all the movies in one packaging, include exclusive features and perhaps with that offer the chance to be among the first to see the last part of Breakig Dawn. Twi-hards will surely gobble it up in seconds. Otherwise, if they don't go the same route, they'd be leaving a lot of money on the table.
Hey, El Kapitan / Capt. USA all is not lost on your quest!

Blckberry White Screen of Death - Blackberry Curve 8520
About a week ago, my Blackberry Curve 8520 suddenly died. My did not fall or something, it just died. I was checking Facebook feeds when for the first time, the white screen of death (WSOD) presented itself.
I have tried putting it on a safe mode and it was ok but only for a short while. Then I tried reinstalling the OS using the app loader and it did worked! But the white screen of death appeared again. I tried reloading the OS again but it failed after seveal cycles: WSOD- Reload OS - WSOD - Reload OS - WSOD.
So I gave up.
But there's another option that I haven't tried yet. That is to disassembe the device and fix the four solder points behind the mini usb port, which could somehow created a short behind the screen. I read this from one of the blackberry forums.
I will just try and try again to install the OS. :-)
So while waiting for my new phone from SMART this February 2012, I decided to buy a cheap smart phone for only P3,000. It's proudly Philippine made MY|Phone QW29 Duo!
I'm surprised that it is actually working - push mail, wifi, social media apps, etc. Transferring my blackberry phonebook to Myphone QW29 Duo is as easy as copy/paste procedure! I'll probably write a review of this phone later.
