The team from the Sisters of Mary School – Boystown was declared as the grand winner in the Metro Ayala Student Quiz – Secondary Level held on December 8.

The Boystown students bested two other teams from the Mandaue City Science High School and Don Carlos A. Gothong National High School, which got the second and third place finish.

The winners received trophy, medals, cash prizes and gift packs from Dunkin Donuts.

The Metro Student Quiz 2007 is organized by Metro Gaisano, in cooperation with the Department of Education (DepEd) in Central Visayas, DepEd Cebu City, DepEd Mandaue City, Nutroplex, Mackmayer Printers, Landbank, Sulpicio Lines, Monde Nissin, Dunkin Donuts, Blue Camp, Paper Club and New Continental Printers.

Next year, the Metro Student Quiz 2008 will again invite the different elementary and secondary schools in Cebu to participate in the event and showcase their students' intellectual prowess.

The activity aims to enhance the intellectual capacity of the students and help them become productive individuals. [Inquirer.Net]
