Bloom did it again! | Hermit crab pet moved to a new shell... again!
Remember the new hermit crab shell I bought last week? Well, Bloom moved to it a day after it was placed in his cage!
Now, my little princess is bugging me to buy a bigger hermit crab shell. :-)

Network out of order | BlackBerry SMS Error
For the last couple of weeks, I've been experiencing this BlackBerry SMS Error - Network out of order. Sent message via twitter both to SMART and BlackBerryHelp and immediately got a reply. According to BlackberryHelp, issues related to SMS are best addressed by your wireless service provider.
On the part of SMART, they asked me what procedure I was doing when I encountered the error. What do you think I was doing when I said I encountered "SMS error"? Do you think I'm making a phone call or surfing the net? Geez. I never realized that it won't be clear, really.
But just the same, told them that I enountered SMS error (network out of order) while sending SMS.
Considering my experience with SMART Blackberry Internet Service (BIS) Activation Problem, I'm not really expecting much from SMARTCares. Thus I asked my friend, Google, for help and I found a solution for network out of order error message received when sending an SMS message from http://www.blackberry.com
Here's what you need to do according to the site:
1. On the Home screen of the BlackBerry smartphone, navigate to Options > SMS.
2. Scroll to the field Network To Send Over.
3. Open the menu and select Change Option. Change the value of the field to GPRS.
4. Open the menu and select Save.
5. Attempt to send another SMS message.
The problem, however, is that in Step no. 3, my device do not have that options. The selection for Network to Send Over are Circuit Switch, Circuit Switched Preferred, Packet Switch and Packet Switched Preferred. There's no GPRS or GSM Option.
Since this is not applicable in my case, I just increased SMS Retries from 3 to 5. I hope it will make a diffirence. I think it will. Because whenever I encounter such error, I simply resend repeatedly until it is sent. But that is really a hassle when I'm doing a campaign using SMS Blasting.
Will update this post once I receive a word from SMART.

Christmas Giveaways | Drive traffic to your blogs
Here's another idea how to drive traffic to your blogs - Christmas giveaways!
It's my first time to try this approach to drive traffic to my Canada Visa blog. Almost 75% of traffic to www.gatewaytocanada.com are coming from search engines and that should be ok. But additional traffic from t-shirts with my URL printed on it that I will be giving away this Christmas wouldn't hurt. Unlike traffic from search engines though, this Christmas giveaways is not FREE. :-) But I think it's a better investment compared to buying links from other blogs or investing in blogs advertising. I expect that through this Christmas giveaways, direct traffic to www.gatewaytocanada.com will increase! And hopefully, give me more leads and potential clients. :-)
Merry Christmas everyone!

Apple iPad to be officially released December 17, 2010 | Power Mac Center
So the iPad Officiial Launching in the Philippines will be on December 17 and not Dec 13. Rumor has it that the delay is due to some "problems" with NTC. They say the price for iPad 16gb wifi is around P24,000.
There are also talks that iPad 2.0 will be released in the US some time next year and that the new version comes with a dual camera. Some of those who plans to buy an iPad are considering to wait few more months for the iPad 2nd gen.
As for me, I can no longer wait. I'll go to Power Mac Center in Mall of Asia next week!

iPad Officiial Launching in the Philippines
The Mega Exchange store at Mall of Asia sells iPad 16gb (wifi only) for only P26,000. That's for one time cash payment. No zero interest installment plan for credit cards. If you buy it using credit card on a 12-month installment plan, the total cost would be P29,900. Was bout to buy one yesterday night but decided to just wait for the official launching of iPad in the Philippines.
Setsu may be right, the price could still go down after the official launching. According to some tech blogs I've read, iPad will be officially launched in the Philippines on December 13, 2010. Will just wait for it.
Another factor that made me decide to delay buying is because of the warranty offered by Mega Exchange - 6 months and for service only. It doesn't sound so good. The Chicken Enchilada we had at Mexicali yesterday night while talking about the iPad launching was good! :-)
I can't wait for the official launching of iPad in the Philippines!

Hermit Crab Shell | Bloom moved to his new hermit crab shell!
When I bought Bloom, Pia's hermit crab pet, I also bought an extra hermit crab shell. I was told by the Lucky Hermit staff that in about two months, Bloom will move to the new shell.
But a week after, Pia told me that I have to buy a bigger shell because Bloom already moved to the other hermit crab shell.
I bought this hermit crab shell last week from Lucky Hermits - MOA for P100.
My little princess is enjoying her new pet! I'm thinking of buying a 10-gallon aquarium for her Bloom and perhaps, another hermit crab and lots of hermit crab shells.

Ugat Pinoy Folk Rock Concert Experience
I went to the UGAT Legends of Pinoy Rock Concert at Araneta Coliseum yesterday night. Alone. I was about to watch the concert with my college friend Chosica but she wasn't able to make it. I have a very few friends who actually love Pinoy classic rock and most of them are now in the province and or busy with work. This is because my generation did not live during the era of Pinoy classic rock. Thus, I ended up watching the concert alone.
I started to love Pinoy rock during college days, being active in the student movement. Tibak ako noon. And I seldom know any activist who doesn't love Pinoy Folk Rock music. The thing about Pinoy classic rock songs is that it convey an important message about love, nationalism and protecting the nature. You can't say the same thing for the music of today's generation.
When I was still connected with Mediahub Cafe, I organized an ASIN concert and it was really a blast. I think that was the only time that Mediahub Cafe was full of guests that I have to set up tables even outside the restaurant.
Ah, I miss by job before as Marketing and Entertainment Manager for Mediahub Cafe. Lots of good memories there.
But I digress. This post is about Ugat Pinoy Folk Rock Concert.
I'll start with the not so good comments. The show started super late. I hate it when things don't start as scheduled or somebody comes late.
Based on my ticket, I was supposed to enter door no. 319. Thurned out that door was closed and we don't know why. There's no message or sign that says it is close and that we're supposed to use different door. We were made to wait for about 30 minutes outside the door after we were allowed to enter the main gate. It was hot and some guests actually ask one of the venue staff if they can just refund their tickets. We ended up like participants of Amazing Race searching for the right door for us.
There's this video presentation about the history of Pinoy Rock music which was cut short due to technical problem.
Can I just say that Ugat organizers suck? But I must say, the show was a blast!
Lolita Carbon and Sampaguita still got the magic. Listening live to Sampaguita sing Sa Diyos Lamang and Lolita Carbon sing Himig ng Pag-ibig was a great treat! I don't see them sing live often.
I've seen Gary Granda and Noel Cabangon perform live during protest rallies and other related events. So I'm not really excited to see them live. But they are nonetheless really good! Gary Granda sang Holdap, Mabuti Pa Sila and Kahit Konti. Noel Cabangon did Kanlungan, Mabuting Pilipino and Umuulan sa Tag-araw, Umaaraw sa Tag-ulan.
I like Heber Bartolome and Banyuhay's prepared line up. They sang Almusal, Nena and Tayo'y Mga Pinoy. If there's one word to describe their set, it's nationalist.
Florante, I learned, is also a good comedian aside from being a great folk singer. He's got good jokes that I heard for the first time. He's really good!
As for Juan Dela Cruz Band, composed of Wally Gonzalez, Mike Hanopol and the legendary Joey Pepe Smith, they brougt the house down with their rock and roll! You've got to give it to them when it comes to playing guitar.
Got no pictures from yesterday night's UGAT concert, sorry. Try http://www.facebook.com/ugatconcert if you want to see concert pictures.

Meralco Call Center | Reporting Meralco Service Problems
Until now, there are Meralco customers leaving comments on the blog entry about Meralco Customer Service I posted some six years ago. To date, there are 33 comments on the entry most of which are reports of service interruptions, complaints, follow up on the service requests, etc.
As to why these Meralco customers prefer to post comment on this blog than contact Meralco Call Center is beyond me. Thus, I'm making this blog entry now to correct it.
For Meralco customers who want to report service problems or other Meralco service issues, just contact Meralco Call Center. I've heard they respond quickly now.
Meralco Call Center: 16211

You can use any landline whithin Metro Manila to contact 16211. Again, please don't leave comments here to report Meralco service problems.

Quest for Best Chicken Inasal
I have just finished my mission to find the best chicken inasal here in Metro Manila.
After trying major inasal houses, I now declare that Bacolod Chk-n-BBQ House serves the best Chicken Inasal! How about you, which chicken inasal do you like the most?
Don't ask why Jollibee's Chicken BBQ was not included here. Jollibee's Chicken BBQ is like China phones when it comes to cellphone. But I've heard they now have spicy chicken bbq, have you tried it yet? As for me, I won't even dare. :-)
