I have just installed 2TwitMe, a full featured Twitter client for Palm OS 5 and above. Except for the registration problem that I encountered, 2TwitMe works perfectly with my Palm Treo 680. I just hope that they reply soon to the support ticket that I've just sent.

2TwitMe is now on sale at Palm Infocenter for only US$3.95. If you want this twitter client for your Palm Smartphone, you have until December 15 to avail of the promo.

Here's a comprehensive review about 2TwitMe. Tweeting using my Palm Treo 680 is now made easy! No need to open a browser to access the Twitter mobile version.

Twitter Client for Palm Treo 680

I finally found a twitter client for my Palm Treo 680 - MoTwit. It's easy to install and more importantly, it's FREE!

Through MoTwit, I can now send a tweet through my phone without needing to open a mobile browser. The limitation, however, is that in order to read tweets from people I follow, I still need to open a browser. Not a perfect twitter client but this will do for now.

Are you into twitter, too? You may follow me @apolthegreat and @gatewaytocanada.

Car Insurance Policy | Act of God

If your car insurance policy is just a normal comprehensive insurance type, it doesn't normally include what they call Act of God provision.

While monitoring the rescue and relief operation updates through twitter, I read the following updates from @ANCALERTS about car insurance policy relating to the damages caused by flood due to to typhoon Ondoy.

Generali Pilipinas SVP & Chief Marketing Officer Melvin Esteban,RFP shared the following information/tips:

Car insurance policy and Act of God

- If you just get normal comprehensive insurance, it doesn't include what they call "act of God".

- If policy has "act of God" or "act of nature", whatever is damaged by this flood will be covered.

- The "act of God" clause costs 400-500 pesos per year.

How to file insurance claims for flood-damaged cars

- Insurance companies are very reasonable. It is more of extra validation, as in the right person and the right car.

- If you did apply to this "act of God" clause, the next step is to secure your property and to tell your insurance company

- If you have an "act of God" clause, even cleaning expenses (i.e. for house filled with mud) will be covered.

- Submit an affidavit (narrate events) because the company also has to know what happened.

- Photographs are very important in securing your insurance.

- If your car was washed away by floods, and then you found it with some parts missing,it is not theft,it is still "act of God".

Typhoon Ondoy | Flood and Rescue Updates from Twitter

The amount of rain caused by the typhoon Ondoy in six hours is almost equal to the average monthly rainfall in Metro Manila, said Nathaniel Cruz, weather services bureau head of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

This resulted to flood almost everywhere in Metro Manila and other parts of Central Luzon.

Here's the situation in the street in Bangkal, Makati where I live.

Just like some areas in Metro Manila, it is also the first time that our place was flooded like this. The ongoing Maynilad Water project in our place is part of the cause.

Pinoy twitters are using the these hashtags for typhoon Ondoy related updates - #manilaflood, #bagyo, and #ondoy

Bill Clinton to Join Phi Beta Sigma?

According to some reports and updates from twitterland, it looks like Phi Beta Sigma fraternity is making former US President Bill Clinton an honorary member.

Image from http://ebonytucson.ning.com/group/phibetasigmafraternityinc

So what's the big deal if Bill Clinton is joining Phi Beta Sigma fraternity?

An Overview of Phi Beta Sigma

Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated was founded at Howard University in Washington, D.C., January 9, 1914, by three young African-American male students. The founders, Honorable A. Langston Taylor, Honorable Leonard F. Morse, and Honorable Charles I. Brown, wanted to organize a Greek letter fraternity that would truly exemplify the ideals of brotherhood, scholarship, and service. [Source]

I have just just checked the Phi Beta Sigma website and can't find confirmation. But if the reports were true, then Bill Clinton will be the first former President of the United States to become a member of historically African-American brotherhood.

Challenge My Brute

Are you daring to challenge my brute?

My Brute is a web based fighting game. I learned about this crazy game via twitter. To play, you have to first create a character (brute) and then start challenging other brutes in the arena. In process, you level up and gain experience and weapons.

The funny part there is that you actually don't have control over your brute when it's fighting in the arena. You just have to hope that your brute will use his weapons timely. hehe!

You are only allowed a maximum of three fights per day so don't worry about being addicted to the game. Click here to create your account and challenge my brute!

Twitter Find: Blog ng Tunay na Lalake

For the uninitiated, Twitter is a free social messaging utility - social networking, instant messaging and micro-blogging - for staying connected in real-time. And if it's from twitter, it must be good.

Well, that of course depends on the kind of tweeples you're following. So far, I've been getting lots of good stuff from the tweeples I follow - funny stories, tech news, blogging tips, currents events and more.

From now on, I'll be blogging about interesting stuff I'll find from twitter. For a start, here's a funny blog called Hay! Men! Ang blog ng mga tunay na lalake!

Find out what's Winnie the Pooh's real gender. Are you sure Popeye is a real man? They have all the answer.

And, oh, they also have entry about Jovito Palparan, my favorite post actually.

So what are you waiting for? Visit http://tunaynalalake.blogspot.com!
