For Filipino MMA fans, UFC 102 is not just about Couture vs Nogueira. It will also be about two Filipino-American fighters: Brandon “The Truth” Vera and Mark “The Filipino Wrecking Machine” Muñoz.

Brandon Vera will be facing Krzysztof Soszynski, who is known for his monicker “The Polish Experiment.” Mark Muñoz, who is relatively a newcomer in the UFC, will be facing Nick Catone.

It's Propofol, Not Xanax

It was speculated before that Xanax side effects caused Michael Jackson's death. Some others blamed it to lupus disease. And according to LaToya Jackson, Michael Jackson was murdered.

The coroner's preliminary finding, however, reported that it's overdosed on propofol that caused Michael Jackson's death.

The Los Angeles coroner has concluded preliminarily that singer Michael Jackson died of an overdose of propofol, a powerful sedative he was given to help him sleep, according to court documents released Monday.

Los Angeles coroner Dr. Lakshmanan Sathyavagiswaran reached that preliminary conclusion after reviewing toxicology results carried out on Jackson's blood, according to a search warrant and affidavit unsealed in Houston, Texas.[Source]

There's also this report that the L.A. County Coroner ruled Michael Jackson's death a homicide. If that is the case, charges may be filed against Dr. Conrad Murray, a Las Vegas cardiologist who became Jackson’s personal physician, who administered 25 mg of propofol to Michael Jackson after repeated demands of the singer.

Pia will surely love this zhu zhu pets. I'll buy her one if the price is reasonable. :-)

Last year, I bought 2 pairs of hamsters for Pia but the pets did not last long. I bought another pair but but same thing happened. She's been requesting for me to buy another pair since then. Pia really loves pets, she has a dachshund dog and a pair of African love birds.



Zhu Zhu Pets are battery operated hamsters and actually move like a real hamster! I'm not sure though if it's already available in the Philippines. According to the Zhu Zhu official website, zhu zhu pets are being sold at Walmart, Toys R Us and Amazon.com.

The 2010 Philippines Election may not just be a banana eating contest after all. With Bro Mike Velarde's declaration that he also wants to be the President of the Philippines, the 2010 Presidential Election could also be about religion. Palakasan na lang kay Lord.

El Shaddai leader Mike Velarde on Wednesday revealed that he wants to run for president in 2010 and is "consulting" with the core members of the worldwide charismatic movement on his plan.

Velarde said he wants to get the approval of the religious group's supposed seven million followers in the country because without their support, his dream may not materialize.

“My entering politics lie in their hands because we believe that the voice of the people is the voice of the Lord. That dictum is not just for any people. It should be for the voice of the people of God," he said.[Source]

KBMT Breaking News: Tornado in Beaumont

KBMT 12 reported that a tornado or straight line winds damaged multiple structures in the West End of Beaumont. Here's a video from KBMT showing some of the damages caused by the tornado.



Based on the initial Beaumont police report, it was said that there were multiple injuries and two people were sent to hospitals. Willie Revillame for Senator?

With the news of Willie Revillame being offered to run for Senator, it looks like the Philippines 2010 Election will just be another circus in the making.

In a press conference on Friday, Senator Manuel Villar, president of the NP, said that if Revillame is willing to run for the Senate, he will reserve a slot for him.

"Oo, naman, very qualified naman si Willie, wala naman akong nakikitang problema kay Willie," Villar said. "Yun ay isang bagay na dapat niyang pagisipan."

Villar visited Revillame in Tagaytay after he found out about the controversy involving Revillame's move to cut the live streaming of the late President Corazon Aquino's August 3 procession which was being shown simultaneously on Wowowee through an inset video.[Source]

While there is a great chance that Willie Revillame is indeed qualify for Senator under Section 3, Article VI of the 1987 Constitution, what makes him very qualified?

"No person shall be a Senator unless he is a natural-born citizen of the Philippines and, on the day of the election, is at least thirty-five years of age, able to read and write, a registered voter, and a resident of the Philippines for not less than two years immediately preceding the day of the election."

Apparently, Senator Manny Villar thinks that being popular makes one very qualified. Why not? We have Bong Revilla and Lito Lapid now in the senate. That makes Willie super qualified.

If you think we need more clowns in the Senate, go ahead and vote Willie Revillame for Senator.

Ralph Recto for Senator?

Ralph Recto for Senator? Not again...

Sec. Ralph Recto resigned as NEDA Chief in preparation for the Philippines 2010 Election. It is not yet certain if he will run for senator or will seek a seat in congress as district representative.



But in fairness to Mr. E-VAT, he's not like those pigs government officials who use their offices and public funds for their infomercial early election campaign. But just the same, because of his E-VAT, I am not inclined to vote for him.

Philippines 2010 Election Campaign Has Begun

You know that the Philippines 2010 Election campaign has started when you see an elected senator do unusual things.

I was on my way to SONA rally when I chanced upon Sen Mar Roxas, wet in the rain, helping the traffic enforcers do their job.



What was he thinking? Does he want to prove that he is better than those trained traffic enforcers. Or maybe it's a sequel to that tasteless padyak political ad? I don't know.

But one thing is certain, it looks like he got what he wanted - publicity. In fact, I overheard a bystander while I'm taking these pictures said , "Yan ang presidente ko!" (That's my president!).

I wonder why our politicians resort to these kind of gimmicks just to get the vote. Is it because it's what the common tao wants? Or is it because it's the only thing that our politicians can think of?

I hope that for the Philippines 2010 Election, we will see a meaningful debate on the candidates' platforms rather than see a banana eating contest among them politicians. Malacanang, Senate and the House of Representatives were not built for the monkeys. Or was it?

Tito Ortiz Returns to the UFC

I thought I will no longer see my favorite mixed martial arts fighter, Tito Ortiz, fight in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) after he left the league last year. He left he UFC due to frustration with Dana White, UFC President.



Tito Ortiz is the UFC Light Heavyweight Champion from April 14, 2000 to September 26, 2003.

It was said that the bad blood between UFC President Dana White and former UFC light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz ran so deep that reconciliation wasn’t even a remote possibility. But after a twitter exchange between the two surfaced recently, fans began speculating that a return to the Octagon wouldn’t be too far off for ‘The Huntington Beach Bad Boy.’ On Friday, White made it official, announcing Ortiz’ re-signing with the UFC during a media teleconference.[Source]

Alexa Rank update - July 31, 2009

About a week ago, I blog about my mission to increase my Alexa rank. That time my Alexa rank is 1,169,908 and I set a goal of bringing it to at least 500,000.



I failed to hit 500,000 but I was able to make a significant improvement. This blog has now an Alexa rank of 791,905. I think I can bring it to top 100,000 by the end of this month. Let's see.

Sales is Problem Solving

He who solves the problem, gets the business. This is something that I have learned from my boss. Sales, according to him, is just like problem solving. Not many telemarketers, salesman and vendors understand this concept.

Here's a sample.

A telemerketer for hotel membership promo, sent her resume for assessment. She's interested to live and work in Canada and wanted to know if she will meet the pass mark using Canada Points System. On her email, she took the opportunity to offer me a membership.

PLEASE SIR I NEED YOUR HELP, I HAD A 6 QUOTA EVERY WEEK.....PLEASE SEND ME TEXT AT 0928******* REGARDING THE DELIVERY OF YOUR MEMBERSHIP UNTIL FRIDAY,YOUR COMPANY NAME,YOUR COMPANY ADDRESS AND THE MEMBERSHIP THAT YOU WANT FOR ME TO DELIVER ON FRIDAY AT 2 PM.....OR YOU CAN TEXT ME YOUR NAME AND YOUR LANDLINE FOR ME TO CALL YOU TOMORROW AND EXPLAIN ABOUT THIS MATTER.....

She wants me to buy a membership to help her with her quota!?! This style is similar to those kids selling dried mangoes saying it's for their tuition. It may work to some extent but it's not gonna work for me.
